artist

Brenda’s work investigates the texture of social relationships, landscape and myth through sculpture, painting and poetry.   Installations have focused on family secrets, feminism and the concept of democracy.  She enjoys working in a variety of media including bronze, burlap, assemblages, photography and paint. 

She received her BFA from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 2004 and went on to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.  She also attended the artist residency program at the Vermont Studio Center. 

Her work is currently represented in galleries in Alaska and New Mexico.  After over 20 years of living in Anchorage, Alaska Brenda has recently relocated to Santa Fe, NM where she is an artist in residence at El Zaguan on Canyon Road.
