I’ve been assisting interesting woman (and a few men too) with a variety of Personal Assistant services since I moved to Santa Fe from Alaska in 2008.

Clients:

My first long-term client is now 100 years old and has relocated to a care facility in Albuquerque but she set me on a path of service that I continue to this day. I helped organize and manage her monthly payments, downsize her estate (books, albums, Eames furniture), shop for groceries and drive her to doctor visits. When she was feeling spunky we embarked on a few adventures to explore the beauty of New Mexico which often led us down narrow paths as she retold stories of her early days mingling with artists, going to the opera and traisping through arroyos. A very interesting woman.

An occasional client who made custom jewelry hired me part-time to help with online sales, shipping, photography and writing a monthly newsletter. She also turned into my landlord for many years and I loved her dog Dylan as if he were my own. And often had the privilege to take care of him when she traveled. I also assisted her late husband in the office helping organize his mail and run errands to his favorite shops in Santa Fe –his route never linear but always someone he’d supported over the years: the obscure office supply across town or the small vacuum repair or the best place to buy brownies or chocolate chip cookies. It was lovely.

Another favorite long term client relocated to Santa Monica to be closer to her team of doctors at sea level where it is easier for her to breathe. I miss her and her family at times. We worked together through the COVID years –not an easy time for anyone– especially if immunocompromised. We did our best and I remain incredibly grateful for those times and opportunity. My position was office organizer, house manager, travel planner, shopper of all things, friend, ally, arranger of flowers, clipper of roses, dog sitter and occasional caregiver. Thank you.
